What is Channel Manager?
A channel manager is software that synchronizes room availability and rates across multiple online booking channels (OTAs, direct website, GDS) from a single interface.
Hotels distribute their rooms across multiple channels: their own website, Booking.com, Expedia, Agoda, and others. Each channel needs accurate, up-to-date availability and pricing. A channel manager connects to all of these platforms and pushes updates automatically when a booking is made, a rate changes, or a room is taken out of service.
The channel manager works alongside the PMS. When a guest books through any channel, the PMS receives the reservation and the channel manager updates availability across all other channels instantly.
